Democratic U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar has been projected by Decision Desk HQ and CBS News to defeat Republican state House Speaker Lisa Demuth in the Minnesota governor’s race. By winning the election, Klobuchar becomes the first woman elected to lead the state, extending the DFL’s hold on the top office. She will succeed outgoing Gov. Tim Walz, who announced in January that he would not seek a third term in the position.
