Software Error Led to 400 Noncitizens Voting in N.J., Gov. Sherrill Says

Governor Mikie Sherrill announced on Tuesday that a software error within the New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles resulted in approximately 6,600 non-citizens being registered to vote. According to the Governor, this glitch led to 400 non-citizens actually voting. Despite these registration errors, Sherrill stated during a press conference that there is currently no evidence to suggest that any elections were swayed by these occurrences. The administration is addressing the technical failure that caused the registrations.
