Winning pitcher in epic 14-inning N.J. baseball state final drafted 17th round by Marlins

Two New Jersey baseball players were selected in the 17th round of the draft. One athlete, who won a 14-inning N.J. state final, was drafted by the Marlins and is the fourth player from Saint Joseph's University chosen this year. Another player, the 2022 N.J. baseball Player of the Year, was drafted by the Red Sox out of Vanderbilt. Both athletes transitioned from New Jersey's top competitive levels to professional baseball opportunities via the draft.
