St. Louis Planetarium gets new projector and visualization system

The James S. McDonnell Planetarium in St. Louis has installed a new Cosm Digistar Full-Dome Data Visualization System and a GOTO Chiron III Hybrid Star Projector. During a demonstration on Thursday, July 2, 2026, manager Will Snyder operated the control board to project images of a black hole and the Laniakea supercluster. This supercluster contains nearly 100,000 galaxies, including the Milky Way, showcasing the capabilities of the newly implemented visualization and projection technology.
