NABJ gives Stephen A. Smith, Brendan Carr and major news outlets its ‘Thumbs Down’ award

The NABJ has presented its Thumbs Down award to Stephen A. Smith, Brendan Carr, and several major news outlets. The organization specifically cited Smith for disparaging commentary that undermines the fair and respectful representation of Black women in public discourse. In response to receiving the award, Stephen A. Smith has vowed to confront the national Black journalists group, warning the organization that he is coming after the decision to recognize him with the award.
