Socialist candidate detained while protesting Netanyahu’s UN address

Socialist candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier was detained in New York City while protesting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his U.N. General Assembly address. She was detained alongside New York City Councilman Chi Osse. Additionally, actors Hannah Einbinder and Susan Sarandon were among those detained on September 24 for protesting Netanyahu. Images of the actors in handcuffs went viral on social media before the Prime Minister began speaking, as both have been outspoken regarding the situation.
