Tesla Just Launched the Cybercab. Now the Feds Are Investigating It.

Tesla has officially launched the Cybercab, which is currently transporting paying passengers in Austin. Simultaneously, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has initiated an investigation into the vehicle. The NHTSA is auditing the self-driving car to determine if it meets federal safety standards and whether the safety claims self-certified by Tesla are accurate. This federal probe coincides with the initial rollout of the autonomous ride-hailing service to the public in the Texas capital.
