Korea Box Office: ‘The Assassin(s)’ and ‘Tazza 4’ Dominate Chuseok Holiday Weekend Surge

Hur Jin-ho's political crime thriller The Assassin(s) dominated the South Korean box office during the Chuseok holiday weekend. Following its Toronto International Film Festival premiere, the film secured 1,546,614 admissions and grossed $11.3M. Simultaneously, in mainland China, Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame Encore claimed the top spot for the September 25–27 frame, earning RMB83.8 million. This brings the Marvel epic's cumulative lifetime haul in China to $647.8 million, alongside competition from Once Upon a Time in the Middle.
