‘The Deb’ Star Charlotte MacInnes Attacks Rebel Wilson In Appeal Against Court Defeat

Charlotte MacInnes, star of The Deb, has formally appealed a Federal Court of Australia ruling. The court previously determined that Rebel Wilson did not defame MacInnes through social media posts from July 2024. Justice Elizabeth Raper dismissed the defamation and breach-of-confidence claims, finding that Wilson's Instagram posts caused no serious harm to MacInnes's reputation. MacInnes filed her notice of appeal on Thursday, continuing the legal dispute surrounding Wilson's directorial debut project.
