Memory Lantern is a local-first, open-source AI remembrance writer created for the Ghost in the Machine Hacktoberfest challenge. Inspired by Día de los Muertos, this private tool helps families preserve voices, recipes, and photographs of loved ones. By using a model on a personal computer, it transforms supplied notes into editable letters or poems. The system avoids recreating the deceased, instead focusing on preserving actual legacies through drafts based strictly on user-provided details for review.
