Despite leading the Memorial Day box office with a $167M global start, the film finished its theatrical run with $345 million worldwide. This total makes it the lowest grossing live-action Star Wars movie, falling below the $393 million earned by Solo. The release allows viewers who missed the cinema experience to watch the film at the end of summer.
