‘The Simpsons’ resurrects Apu after nearly a decade of silence

The Simpsons has brought back the character Apu after nearly a decade of silence. Returning alongside his wife, Manjula, Apu is now featured in a meaty plotline. Following years of backlash, the character is now voiced by actual Indian American actors Sunil Malhotra, a veteran voice-over artist, and Janina Gavankar from The Morning Show. This move ensures that Apu Nahasapeemapetilon Jr. returns to the series with a South Asian voice for the first time.
