Developer Josh Pigford created Knockoff, a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox that automatically filters, grays out, or hides products from sketchy brands on Amazon. The tool highlights the prevalence of shady, alphabet-soup brand names, such as SUNHZMCKP and SACATR, which frequently appear during searches for basic items. While the extension helps users dodge knock-off products, it simultaneously reveals the sheer volume of questionable listings currently saturating the Amazon marketplace across various product categories.
