Three Mount Shasta Climbers Used AI to Plan Climb, Had to Be Rescued

Three inexperienced hikers from Roseville required a multi-agency rescue from Mount Shasta after relying on Google Gemini AI for trip planning. The climbers became stranded after following inadequate advice regarding nutrition and gear provided by the artificial intelligence. The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office assisted in the operation on Monday. The group had established a camp at 8,400 feet on Saturday before their excursion failed due to the poor guidance received from the AI tool.
