Tidal to Label AI-Generated Music, Ban Royalties from AI Song Streams

Tidal announced a new AI policy effective July 15, requiring artists to label music wholly or substantially created using AI. While the streaming service is not banning AI-generated content outright, such tracks will no longer be eligible for royalties. This policy, which also applies to the Tidal Upload independent artist franchise, aims to protect human artists and inform listeners. The platform will use specific icons to identify tracks that are 100 percent AI-generated to prioritize human creativity.
