TikTok is no longer banned on US government devices

The US government has officially lifted the ban on TikTok for federal devices. According to a DOJ memo, this decision reverses the 2022 restriction, allowing federal employees to download the application. The move follows ByteDance's divestiture of TikTok's US operations and user data to a majority American-owned joint venture. Consequently, the platform is once again permitted on government hardware after the transfer of operations and data to the new American-led entity.
