Google, Microsoft and OpenAI urge stronger cyber defenses against AI threats

Over 100 organizations, including Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic, have signed an open letter calling for a global effort to strengthen cyber defenses. The group urges businesses and governments to treat cybersecurity as an immediate leadership priority to combat evolving AI-powered threats and fix software weaknesses. This push for systemic changes coincides with the EU’s Cyber Resilience Act, which makes many of these security requirements mandatory starting September 11 to protect against sophisticated AI-driven attacks.
