SkyScout: Point Your Phone at the Stars and Touch Grass with Open-Source AI

SkyScout and SnapNature are open-source AI projects created for the Touch Grass challenge to encourage outdoor exploration. SkyScout is an audio-first celestial observatory using smartphone telemetry, including GPS and gyroscope data, to guide stargazing without screen reliance. SnapNature is a mobile-first Progressive Web App utilizing a pre-trained ResNet50 model for nature image recognition. It allows users to upload photos of plants and animals to receive instant classifications via a REST API and Docker support.
