China’s renewable energy generation surpasses 40% of total power output for first time in H1 2026

The National Energy Administration announced that China's renewable energy sector grew rapidly in the first half of 2026. For the first time, renewable power generation accounted for over 40% of total electricity generation. Simultaneously, Toyota reported a decline in global output and sales for the first half of the year. This marks the first time in two years that the company has seen such a decrease, primarily driven by weakness in the China market.
