The City of San Diego is set to approve a $3.1 million settlement for an SDPD sergeant who alleged racial discrimination over a decade. Separately, San Diego resident George Russel Isbell Jr. pleaded guilty in Florida on June 25. He admitted to mailing a threatening letter to conservative podcaster Benny Johnson in 2025, following the death of Charlie Kirk, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida.
