Trump spends nearly half of his midterm closing pitch talking about Reflecting Pool renovations

President Donald Trump focused heavily on Reflecting Pool renovations and capital city infrastructure during a pre-Election Day speech. While billed as a closing argument for the 2026 midterm elections, Trump prioritized discussing the Reflecting Pool, pipes, a new promenade, and the White House helipad. Critics argue he is favoring pet construction projects over economic concerns. Trump praised the pool's beauty and mentioned past vandalism, though the Justice Department previously dropped charges against David Hearn.
