Trump says he told Cory Mills to drop reelection bid amid ethics scandal

President Donald Trump stated on Truth Social that he advised Rep. Cory Mills to abandon his reelection bid before the Florida GOP primary. Despite this advice, Mills continued his campaign and ultimately lost to former news anchor Ryan Elijah. Mills is currently facing a House Ethics Committee investigation regarding allegations of campaign finance law violations and domestic violence. Trump described Mills as a friend but noted that the congressman believed he could still win the race.
