No tsunami danger in CA coast after massive earthquake in Philippines: NWS

A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck near Mindanao Island in the Philippines on Monday morning. The United States Geological Survey reported the seismic event, which prompted the U.S. embassy to warn residents to evacuate immediately to higher ground or move farther inland due to tsunami concerns. However, the National Weather Service stated that there is no tsunami danger for the California coast following the massive earthquake that occurred in the southern portion of the Philippines.
