WeRide and Uber plan commercial robotaxi service launch in Zurich by late 2026

Uber is expanding its autonomous transport footprint globally. In partnership with WeRide, the company plans to launch a commercial robotaxi service in Zurich by late 2026, navigating regulatory hurdles for market expansion. Additionally, Uber will introduce a premium robotaxi service in Houston by 2027. This Houston deployment will be the second market featuring Lucid EVs integrated with a self-driving system developed by Nuro, further advancing the shift toward autonomous vehicle technology and commercialization.
