Sony Music, Universal Music Group Sue Suno Over Label-Backed Model: ‘Fruit of the Same Poisoned Tree’

Sony Music and Universal Music Group have filed a new 45-page lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in the District of Massachusetts against Suno. The labels allege that Suno's latest AI music-generation model continues to infringe upon their copyrighted works. This legal action follows the launch of Suno v6, which was trained on licensed music through partnerships with BMG, Believe, and Warner Music Group, but remains contested by Sony Music and UMG as the fruit of a poisoned tree.
