Union Pacific’s “Big Boy” train arrives at Union Station in St. Louis

Union Pacific’s Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, arrived at Union Station in St. Louis on July 19, 2026. A large crowd gathered to see the massive engine during its coast-to-coast tour, which commemorates the nation’s 250th anniversary. At the station, a train worker was observed placing a name tag on the blue flag safety board of the locomotive as part of the operational procedures during the visit.
