Universal sets opening date for new ‘Fast and Furious’ roller coaster

Universal Studios Hollywood has announced that Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift, the park's first outdoor high-speed roller coaster, will open on September 16. This hillside attraction features four vehicles based on iconic cars, including Dominic Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger and Brian O’Conner’s Nissan Skyline GT-R. Although originally scheduled for a summer debut, the ride's opening has caused concern among residents of neighboring Toluca Lake as the attraction finally prepares to launch this September.
