USS George Washington arrives in Middle East

The USS George Washington aircraft carrier has arrived in the Middle East to relieve the USS Abraham Lincoln, according to U.S. Central Command. The USS Abraham Lincoln had been deployed in the region for nearly nine months, including a record-setting period of over 250 consecutive days at sea. Typically operating in the western Pacific Ocean, the USS George Washington serves as the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier to address concerns regarding the previous vessel's lengthy deployment.
