US aircraft carrier deploys to Middle East to relieve USS George Washington

The USS Theodore Roosevelt, a Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and flagship of Carrier Strike Group 9, departed San Diego on Sunday. The vessel is heading to the Middle East to relieve the Japan-based USS George Washington. This deployment occurs as tensions with Iran persist.
