Justice Department Sides With Paramount on Demand That States Post $1.88 Billion Bond

The Justice Department has sided with Paramount regarding a demand that states post a $1.88 billion bond. This follows a lawsuit by 12 state AGs that continues to delay the Paramount and WBD merger. In a statement of interest filed on Tuesday, the DOJ asserted that its investigation concluded the merger will not undermine competition. Consequently, the government maintains that the states should be responsible for paying the bond amount to proceed with the legal process.
