US forces sink narco-refueling station linked to Ecuadorian cartel in Pacific: SOUTHCOM

U.S. forces sank a refueling vessel in the Eastern Pacific linked to the Los Choneros terrorist organization. SOUTHCOM reported that the vessel supported at-sea drug trafficking operations. This action occurred on Labor Day as part of ongoing efforts by the Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere to eliminate narcotic-trafficking operations smuggling drugs into the United States. This marks the fifth refueling vessel sunk by the U.S. military in its campaign to secure the Western Hemisphere from cartel activities.
