Victim identified in fatal State Street crash

A 59-year-old Albany man, identified by Schenectady Police as Lamont Chambers, died Sunday after crashing into the Transfinder headquarters building on State Street. Separately, a multi-agency rescue operation took place in Giles County on Sunday night. This incident involved the use of a backhoe to rescue a victim following a vehicle crash. Both events occurred on the same day, resulting in one confirmed fatality and one emergency extraction effort by local authorities.
