Things to do in the garden this week

Gardeners should continue mowing lawns until growth ceases, reducing cutting height by half an inch per session to reach a final 1.5 to 2 inches. In gaming, October's first full week features major releases, including the Xbox prequel Gears of War: E-Day and a sequel MMORPG. Other titles include a Star Wars racing game, a horror movie adaptation, a 2.5D survival horror metroidvania, and a peaceful countryside driving experience, rounding out a packed schedule of new releases.
