Side Quest: A Local AI Game Master That Sends You Outside

Side Quest and TouchGrass AI are open-source submissions for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 1: Touch Grass. These tools utilize local AI, including the Gemma model, to act as game masters that generate personalized outdoor missions. Users select their available time and current mood to receive achievable real-world adventures tailored to their weather and season. The primary goal is to reduce screen time by providing reasons to explore the physical world through small, interactive quests.
