Walmart To Finally Start Accepting Apple Pay and Google Pay

Walmart announced it will begin accepting Apple Pay and Google Pay starting August 24 at select Walmart and Sam's Club locations. The rollout aims to reach all stores by year-end and expand to fuel stations by mid-2027. Previously, the retailer promoted in-house solutions like Walmart Pay and Scan-and-Go. Walmart stated this move provides customers more choice and simplifies the checkout process, moving away from a reliance on QR codes to embrace ubiquitous tap-to-pay technology.
