I built an AI that only works when my phone is in my pocket

Two projects were submitted for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 1. Trail Buddy serves as a trekking companion for Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, providing offline roadmaps and AI tips for areas without mobile signal. Conversely, Drift uses Gemma 4 and open-weight voice technology to create destinationless walks. It generates playful rules read aloud while the phone remains in the pocket, encouraging users to engage with their surroundings through sensory prompts and specific environmental interactions.
