Warsh Considers Reducing Frequency of Fed Policy Meetings

Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh is considering reducing the frequency of the central bank’s scheduled policy meetings. This proposal was raised during this week’s Federal Open Market Committee gathering, according to the New York Times. For decades, the Federal Reserve has met at least eight times annually. According to Bloomberg Managing Editor Kate Davidson, implementing this change to the meeting schedule would represent the most significant modification made by Warsh since assuming the role of chairman.
