Washington Post Ordered to Rehire Columnist Fired Over Charlie Kirk

A private arbitrator has ordered The Washington Post to immediately reinstate opinion columnist Karen Attiah. Attiah, a union-protected employee and the paper's only Black opinion columnist at the time, was fired last September following social media posts regarding the death of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk. The arbitrator ruled that the news organization improperly terminated her, violating her employment rights. Consequently, The Washington Post must rehire Attiah and provide compensation for her lost wages during the period of termination.
