Trump-endorsed Republican Byron Donalds wins Florida race for governor

Republican Byron Donalds has won the Florida gubernatorial race, defeating Democrat David Jolly to become the state's first Black governor. Endorsed by Donald Trump, Donalds positioned his campaign as a continuation of the DeSantis-era of success. He will succeed Ron DeSantis, who will be termed out of office in January. This victory marks a historic milestone, as Donalds becomes the first Black Republican governor in the nation following one of the most-watched midterm races in the country.
