Watermelon Pictures has acquired the North American rights to Ashes, a migration drama directed and co-written by Diego Luna. The film, which marks the Andor star's return to directing, is adapted from the feminist novel Ceniza en la boca. Following its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, the production is scheduled to make its debut at the Toronto Film Festival next month.
