Waymo has officially opened its driverless robotaxi rides to the general public in Denver, San Diego, and Tampa. The launch in Denver marks the company's first commercial deployment in a city experiencing real snowfall. According to EU rules, an automated driving system's weather envelope is part of a type-approved operational design domain. Consequently, vehicles must execute a minimum risk manoeuvre whenever they reach the boundary of this specified operational design domain to ensure safety.
