Waymo issues its sixth recall after robotaxis drove into highway construction zones 13 times

Waymo has issued its sixth recall affecting nearly 4,000 robotaxis after vehicles entered highway construction zones 13 times. Six events took place in Phoenix during April, while seven occurred in the San Francisco Bay Area on one day in May. According to NHTSA filings, a fix is currently under development to address these risks. This recall follows several unnerving incidents where the autonomous vehicles failed to avoid freeway construction areas across two different cities.
