Designing friction instead of blocking: what I learned building a screen-time app

Developing a screen-time app revealed that absolute blockers often fail, leading to a strategy of adding friction rather than total restriction to maintain user engagement. Simultaneously, creating Face Aging Studio demonstrated that the AI model is only one component of a product. Success depends on solving complex challenges surrounding the AI, including identity preservation, user expectations, processing time, and privacy, ensuring that the final experience is intuitive and enjoyable for real users in practice.
