Police have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with Virginia State University shooting

Police arrested 19-year-old Camron Harris in connection with a shooting at Virginia State University that wounded five people, including one critical victim. The incident occurred around 1:30 am Saturday near campus residence halls. Harris, a Henrico resident and non-student, was apprehended at 4 pm after hiding in a Seward Hall dormitory closet for over 14 hours. Chesterfield County police are continuing their investigation into the attack that took place as students returned for the fall semester.
