We built a free ipify alternative - here's what we learned

Developers created a free ipify alternative after noticing the original open-source project lacked updates since January 2018, despite the hosted service remaining active via WhoisXML API. Separately, Clear Code Intelligence conducted a public-code methodology test by scanning Google's zx repository. This process resulted in a 29-page technical diligence report, highlighting the challenges of identifying technical debt when risky patterns are actually intended features of a product's specific surface area and shell execution workflows.
