Microsoft Defender for Cloud addresses cloud environment fragmentation by providing a unified platform that integrates security and cloud posture to identify vulnerabilities and protect workloads. Simultaneously, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint utilizes EDR in Block Mode to enhance threat response. In normal EDR Mode, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint detects threats and communicates directly with Microsoft Defender Antivirus, which then blocks and remediates the detected threat immediately through a seamless, integrated process between the two Microsoft products.
