Why Putin flourishes, and Zelensky falters, with Trump

Donald Trump exhibits submissiveness toward Vladimir Putin while showing disdain for Volodymyr Zelensky. This dynamic has created a situation where Trump restricts Ukraine's defense capabilities while effectively funding Russia's war efforts. Consequently, American values and interests conflict with Trump's actions. Ukrainian officials believe that remaining silent is now riskier than speaking out, as Trump increasingly prioritizes Russia's interests over those of Ukraine, prompting Zelensky to adopt a more assertive approach toward the American president.
