Woman charged in alleged plot to detonate explosive device at New York State Capitol

The FBI foiled a plot by 35-year-old Jessica Bowie to detonate an explosive device at the New York State Capitol in Albany. Bowie faces federal charges for allegedly attempting to provide material support to ISIS. The investigation began after a confidential informant notified the FBI that Bowie had reached out for assistance in executing the Islamic State group-inspired attack. Officials have since charged the woman in connection with the alleged plot to bomb the government building.
