World Trade Center in flames 9/11

On September 11, 2001, in New York City, the World Trade Center twin towers were destroyed during a massive terror attack. The north tower burned after an initial strike by a hijacked airliner, followed by the south tower bursting into flames after being hit by United Airlines Flight 175. Following the destruction, Urban Search and Rescue teams searched the wreckage for survivors. The attacks resulted in the deaths of 2,606 people during the catastrophic events.
