Democrats hold on to redistricted House seat in Texas

Decision Desk HQ reports that Johnny Garcia (D) is projected to win the race for Texas’s 35th Congressional District, a seat previously redrawn by Republicans. Meanwhile, in Tennessee, Republican state Sen. Brent Taylor is projected to win the redistricted 9th Congressional District seat. Taylor replaces the retiring Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) after defeating Democratic state Rep. Justin Pearson and independent candidates Dennis Jeffrey Clark and Michelle Head in the House race for the seat.
